The latest addition to Studiocanal’s prestigious Vintage Classics Collection: FRIEDA – a moving melodrama that tackles the personal cost of war, particularly for women, in the aftermath of World War II.
FRIEDA, produced by Michael Balcon and directed by Basil Dearden, stars Mai Zetterling and David Farrar in the story of a German girl, who helps English Robert (David Farrar) to escape from a German prisoner-of-war camp and returns with him to England as his wife where she is met with hostile anti-German sentiment.
It also features brand new interviews to accompany the film.
