Wearing the wrong bra size means you’re not going to get the support and benefits you would gain from a properly fitted bra. Aside from a wrong-fitting bra just being uncomfortable, it can potentially lead to breast, neck or shoulder pain and mild skin grazes.
Lingerie experts Lounge Underwear have put together the top 5 signs that you’re wearing the wrong bra size, which will have bra wearers saving money and feeling much more comfortable.
Your bra is on the tightest hook
If you are putting a newish bra on the tightest hook, chances are you may want to consider sizing down. The last clip is typically used when a bra has been worn and stretched out.
Your breasts are spilling out of the cups
Whether it be a bit of side boob or face on, you need to size up if your breasts are not contained in the cups.
Wrong bra size? The two-finger test
By putting two fingers underneath the band at the back while wearing the bra on the loosest hook, you can determine if your bra is too big or too small. If you can fit more than 2 fingers, your bra is too big, and if you cannot fit 2 fingers under the band, your bra is too small.

The cups crease
If the cups crinkle up while wearing your bra or when you’ve taken your bra off and notice the cups have wrinkled up, your bra is likely too big for you. Your breast should fill the cups; the cups should feel snug against you, so there is no room for creasing.
The wire position
With wired bras, the wire should never be sat on the breast tissue or dig in, making wearers uncomfortable. Ensure the wire is always sitting flat against your ribcage and around the contour of your breast without digging in or gaping. The underwire enables your bra to lift and support, particularly for fuller cup sizes.
