As the debate for cosmetic surgery vs non-invasive anti-ageing treatments continues to escalate, there is one treatment taking the world by storm called the CACI Wrinkle Revolution.

The new 20 minute treatment has recently become available in the UK market and specifically targets fine lines and wrinkles as a real alternative to Botox and dermal fillers by combining the power of red light with micro-current.

With existing CACI treatments already hugely popular with A-listers, the trend for visible red light is ever-growing as it comprises a gentle and effective way of healing and rejuvenating skin.   Red light easily penetrates the dermis and can help with a variety of skin conditions, such as acne, rosacea, scarring and eczema, as well as redefining facial contours, plumps out deep lines and wrinkles as well as improves skin quality.

The treatment combines Microdermabrasion, the exfoliation of the superficial layers of the epidermis, and transmission of micropulses and LED Light to stimulate collagen and plump the skin tissue.  The second stage uses an ultrasonic hand-piece that emits 27,000 vibrations per second on the skin surface to deep cleanse, lift impurities and gently exfoliate the skin. Next is LED Light Therapy which helps to plump out lines and wrinkles, providing a needle free alternative to collagen injections and dermal fillers. The CACI Amino-Lift Peptide Complex then helps improve skin firmness and reduce expression lines and wrinkles.

Beauty tips of the month for 50+ skin

1.    Always choose a moisturiser based on your skin type not age bracket – anti-ageing creams are effective if they suit your skin’s specific needs.  Don’t forget to moisturise your neck and behind your ears, as these areas can looser skin elasticity too!

2.    Thick eyebrows are a sign of a youthful appearance, so don’t take them too thin when you pluck or get a wax.  Draw in hairs with a neutral eyebrow pencil if you notice them thinning out.

3.    Try and avoid using pressed powders and matte face make-up, as these settle into wrinkles and make your skin look even older.  Instead go for a tinted moisturiser or light-reflective light foundation, to give your complexion a radiant, youthful glow.
