What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas…
Las Vegas has long been renowned for its bright lights, lavish hotels, fine dining, great shopping and amazing shows, not to mention the 24/7 Casinos. With so much to see and do in Vegas, there really is something for everyone.
Where to Stay in Las Vegas?
Wherever you are in the world, a hotel can simply transform your whole holiday experience, and in Vegas; where the hotels are amongst the most breath taking in the world, this definitely stands true! If you are looking for a hotel that is in the heart of the action then you need to look for a hotel that is on the strip, and you will have plenty to choose from.
After some research on Las Vegas, I knew I wanted to stay at one of the most iconic hotels on the strip; the Mirage and I would recommend this hotel to anyone thinking about going to Las Vegas!
Perfectly located in the centre of the Las Vegas strip, this classic luxury hotel definitely stands out from the rest, and its impressive “erupting” volcano at the Hotel’s entrance makes it hard to miss!
I stayed in a Resort King room, with a fantastic view of the strip and iconic hotel Volcano. The room was contemporary, remarkably modern and equipped with a range of finishing touches to make your stay all the more luxurious; such as a 42-inch flat screen TV, blackout shades, a fully stocked mini bar and high-speed wireless internet.
Now, what would a hotel in Vegas be without a Casino?! Boasting more than 100,000 square feet dedicated to gaming, you can be sure that the Mirage casino does not disappoint with plenty of room for games (whether you want to beg big or small!) such as Blackjack, Craps, Baccarat, Roulette, Three-Card Poker and more slot machines that you can ever imagine!
To recharge before another night in the infamous sin city, you can make the most of sunny Vegas in the Mirage Pool. With 2 pools and 2 whirlpools in a tropical environment surrounded by waterfalls, lush foliage, private cabanas and an outdoor café, we found this to be the perfect place to relax whilst catching some sunny Las Vegas rays.
This mini-city hotel really does have something to please everyone and if you need some advice, you can always ask the staff! Whether you want to make a dinner reservation, book a sight-seeing tour, hire a limo, order room service or simply ask for directions, the staff at the Mirage were always happy to help!
Eating in Vegas
There is only one sure bet when it comes to Las Vegas, you’ll never go hungry!! With possibly the biggest selection of restaurants and buffets I have ever encountered, it really doesn’t matter what you are craving; whether it’s a traditional American Burger, prime steak, sushi or simply good ol’ English fish and chips, you can bet your bottom dollar that there will be somewhere nearby that will cook it all to perfection.
The best part is, we didn’t even need to step outside of the hotel to find a wide variety of exquisite dining choices to suit our taste buds! We had a selection of everything from a classic buffet-style dining to casual meal choices such as the BLT Burger; although we decided to treat ourselves on our first night in Las Vegas to some fine cuisine at Tom Colicchio Heritage Steak House.
Tom Colicchio Heritage Steak Restaurant
Award Award-winning New York Chef has left his mark on the Las Vegas strip with his newest steakhouse; – a dining experience not to be missed! Located in the atrium of the Mirage Casino Hotel, the Heritage steak restaurant excels itself on its elegant style so you can feel relaxed yet sophisticated.
At the Heritage, the menu is as varied as it is delicious. They bring cooking back to its original roots by cooking over an open fire using wood and charcoal; allowing them to cook the steaks to absolute perfection. Just make sure you save room for dessert – you won’t be disappointed.
The staff at the heritage are amongst the best in the business. Our waiter gave us an insight into the way they take pride in their cooking methods whilst treating meat with the utmost respect. Perhaps this is why it literally melts in your mouth.
Overall, this was an excellent dining choice.
The Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat
With so many attractions to visit in Las Vegas, it can be difficult to know which ones to put at the top of your holiday ‘to-do’ list; especially with limited time and dare I say budgets!
If you’re looking for something a little different to do whilst in Vegas, you must head over to the Mirage where you can come face to face with some of nature’s most exotic and majestic creatures.
Surrounded by palm trees; the Dolphin Habitat is a research facility designed to educate people about these amazing creatures; where you may even catch the animals engaging in natural play.
Steps away from the Dolphin Habitat, you can then enter the wonderful, secluded world of the Secret Garden. Set in a lush tropical environment, the secret garden showcases a range of lions, tigers; including black and white striped tigers as well as pure white ones and endangered leopards.
